As a relatively inexperienced sailor (approx 300NM) I find this fascinating. How that skipper and crew timed that is very, very impressive.

I could be wrong, looks like this Film/clip has been “speeded up“ to make it look more dramatic than it is, have another look, notice the speed of it all, never the less, great Seamanship or a fluke pure luck, its hard to say, i have been at Sea since 1975, not shue what to make of it, but it looks Dangerous, but its all happening to fast, i get the feeling its all moving rather fast

‘A yacht is a recreational boat. The term originated from the Dutch Jacht meaning “hunt”. It was originally defined as a light, fast sailing vessel used by the Dutch navy to pursue pirates and other transgressors around and into the shallow waters of the Low Countries. After its selection by Charles II of England as the vessel of choice to return to Britain from Holland for his restoration, it came to be used to convey important persons.’
Hope that clears it up for you :)
