You could technically head out without a crew, however it is a very good idea to at least have an engineer monitoring the power plants and engines in the engine room. On this model, the 40 meter, the engineer has his own living space as part of the engine room/equipment spaces. I would rather not have a full crew myself. Captain, Chef, Engineer would be just fine.
You can go on a virtual tour of the interior and exterior of all Westport yachts on their website below. I worked on the 50 Meter (164′) model and was amazed how much time and money get poured into maintenance for something rarely used.
